Yes, this is probably for the better. Who knows what mistakes could have been made, either by you, Riley, or this entity.
The entity is confused, as is Riley, but it just shrugs and takes your word for it. You manage to hold off Riley long enough for the being to disappear from whence it came from. Riley is upset, but you explain why the situation bugs you so much.
