It was through this project that I discovered that I don’t like working with generative AI beyond the very initial brainstorming phase. Working with it felt like trying to create something with a box of some 12 yr old’s crayons. Generative AI serves well as a tool to collaborate different ideas or directions to go with a project, but making a finished product from that box of chewed-on crayons is just doing the art a disservice. When using the AI during my ideation phase, I found myself excited about this project. However, when I started using the AI generated images as part of the final glitched GIFs, I rapidly lost interest!

This, coupled with the difficulty I was having with other life stresses at the time, resulted in a product feeling rushed. As such, I consider my submission for Project 1 a good DEMO. One day I will come back to the ideas I laid down with this project and build something filled with more detail and creativity than anything the AI is capable of generating.

All that said, learning how to genuinely glitch and corrupt a file was delightfully fun. I enjoyed the element of randomness that came with each attempt, inciting a miniature, similar joy to the act of gambling. This is a skill I hope to carry with me into future projects.

I'm going to use a big blinking eye for my final project, so I found a tutorial just for that: https://youtu.be/lozdbh8UUlw?si=SNRXkd-4Ju...
