Despite a slew of technical difficulties, the final filters are coherent enough to the original idea I had laid out in my brainstorm blog. The angel and demon fit as a pair, and felt connected to my original roots as an artist by modeling the dragon; Dragons were the catalyst that really made me start to draw. We were told that we could make anything in a Blender, and I took that to heart–without considering my own skill level. I took this class specifically to learn Blender, and that’s exactly what I did! There are still issues with the models that I was unable to solve, but more than anything I learned a LOT. Through long, painful hours of troubleshooting, I learned some very valuable information about Shape Keys and Modifiers that I will carry into future projects. I will continue to explore Blender no doubt about it.

TikTok’s Effect House was less appealing to my interests, and by extension the creation of AR or VR experiences. I had not considered using virtual mediums like this before, and while filters can get some fun reactions out of people, I prefer art that is more tangible, more physical. In the future I want to explore possibly 3-D printing my models, and building more skill with animating in Blender. Many of the artists that I look up to online use blender for their animations, and now that I've tried out the program, I feel one step closer to being able to make the amazing things they can.
