I wasn’t really grabbed/inspired by the project’s prompt, which definitely had an effect on my final product. I found myself rushing through just to get the project done, not giving it the time of day it really deserved. Nonetheless, I think I was able to effectively communicate the objects in my theme; that being robots and the cat. The modification of the animal crossing sounds to sound like robotic dialogue came off really well. The chaotic mood from the two robots fighting came across quite well. However, as both I and peers noticed, my background sound was a little lackluster. I also think I could have expanded on the concept more, and that the rhythm I spoke about in my brainstorm blog was too repetitive. The rhythm sequence dragged on for too long in hindsight.

Through this assignment, I did learn that sound mixing is not an art form that is meant for me; At the very least, not with this program. Listening to the same clip, over and over again just to perfect it does not mix well with my personality, and I found myself getting more frustrated with the work than playful. I should have spent more time on the project, adding more into the background and perfecting the timing of the robot’s fighting. Since audio editing seems to be my weak point as a digital artist, for the next project I will likely come up with a way to not use very edited audio.
