One of the biggest things holding me back from creating assignments I was totally proud of was technology limitations. Upon exploring Adobe animate and similar programs, I found that my plan to do frame by frame animation was too grandiose for the scope of this project. doing frame by frame animation with a mouse and a trackpad was not something I was about to attempt, as I had plenty of other assignments to complete. Thus all animation was done through after effects, with mixed results. The cat chase scene was the scene I wanted to do with frame by frame animation. Because I did not follow through with that plan, it feels like that sequence suffered in quality.
Nonetheless, the project as a whole turned out better than I had anticipated. I think my strongest element was the sound design and coherent aesthetic. I put a lot of thought into

where sounds were placed and why the sounds were being played, what volume, etc. It's something that I often have critiqued in other pieces of media, so I tried to pay special sensitivity to it. In addition, a solid theme was held coherently throughout the entire piece, a theme that I am satisfied with.
To tackle any animation project in the future, I see now that I need to put a lot more effort into it than I anticipated. This project, while I am content with its results, I see it can be vastly improved had I given it more time. if I had the energy to do frame by frame animation, for instance, the animation would have been improved. I do like doing animation work, even through the frustrations that I did have with this project, so I do hope to create more like this in the future.
