Project: Zine
I want to go simple or else I will do what I commonly do with a lot of my projects, which is come up with something too grand for me to execute within a limited time scope. So?

Hands. I am an artist that actually quite enjoys drawing hands. I think there is a deep level of body language conveyed simply through how one carries their hands. I would like to choose a collection of feelings/emotions and look to pose hands to try to convey those feelings. The use of colored shadows and highlights can further convey mood. For example, a drawing of a flexed fist or a hand scraping and clawing at another hand with bright yellow highlights and deep red highlights all to communicate the feeling of aggression/anger. The 12 pages of drawn hands would be created in illustrator, and then combined with the real images of hands in photoshop to ensure the use of both programs.

Additionally, if I'm feeling up to it, I could be creative with the spine of the zine, making it a spine held together by interlaced hands too. Another idea is to position a hand on at least one page, that is placed in a way so that the person holding the zine could touch the other hand, blurring the line between art and the viewer. I am an avid enjoyer of body horror and have been trying to push more of those elements into my art, so I would greatly enjoy if I could bring myself to 'rip and tear' some of those hands in an artistic sense.
