Project: Corpse soundscape

Thinking for ideas for this project was difficult, as my instinct is to make some sort of chaotic rhythmic composition. I knew I wanted to incorporate a pet sound file somewhere in the composition. Part of me also wants to build off of my last project, keeping some vague theme (or perhaps I just like robots/machines too much). My concept is to somehow communicate, in 4:33, two robots/androids fighting over a cat. Naturally.

Taking mundane sounds of silverware, legos, cars, etc. and modifying their pitch can create the sounds of the robots being hit and their metal bodies clanking around. The piece starts and ends with the meow of the cat for unity. Chaotic clanks fill the middle of the piece until one loud clank signals the defeat of one of the machines. A brief silence ensues, and then the purring/meowing of the cat is faded in to show triumph. Using pitch modifiers and cutting up sounds, I can use the beeping of appliances to serve as the robot's 'voices' without having to actually record any voice. The hope is to mimic the two cussing each other out. Its stupid and silly, and I figure I can create a vague enough rhythmic progression with the fight sounds to satisfy my need for rhythm. This project would remain entirely wordless. The goal is to make the listener laugh with the goofy concept.
